The Mzansi wrestler, beyond championships?

Reported by Shamila Maseko

Ubuntu Wrestling Organisation (UWO), has been critized for Annamia, not being crowned champion, after her tenure with the company, since its inception.

“The invigorated South African pro wrestler sat on a chair, in her apartment verandah, contemplating the situation of the people, in her country.”

According to a citizen journalist, from the area, who stood across the street; saw the wrestler, using her luchadora mask. He tried to get a good photo.

Annamia Pillai, the person behind the mask, is known to the public as La Intombazana Porveeran. The 27-year-old KwaDukuza citizen, emphasizes her performance name owes to multiple languages, and cultural layers; as paying homage to her love of Mexican wrestling (La – Mexican word), the patriotism to her country of birth (Intombazana – Zulu word), and her ethnic and religious beliefs (Porveeran – Tamil word).

Unlike the U.S. based pro wrestling promotions, the KwaDukuza-based; Ubuntu Wrestling Organisation (UWO), has been critized for Annamia, not being crowned champion, after her tenure with the company, since its inception. The Mzansi wrestler,

GenremediaHK, has been following La Intombazana Porveeran ( The girl warrior), or L.I.P., since her debut in the UWO, and have reported previously how citizens, from all walks of life, have been enamored with both the character and the person behind the mask.

Whether Annamia, gets gold around her waist or not, may never bother the rainbow nation, as her followers think that the Mzansi wrestler, transcends championships.
