The KwaDukuza central business district (CBD) is losing its soul primarily due to criminality, causing citizens to steer clear of their favourite shops, coming to pay rates, hanging out at recreation spots and other social activities.

Brazen robbery, besides the recent shocker headline of KwaDukuza being ranked #1 for residential robberies, has become a norm on the streets.

This is leaving consumers and business owners vulnerable to, in most cases, 2 or 3-man groups that prey on shoppers. I almost fell victim to robbery opposite Shoprite, the same spot my late mother was robbed at.
